The first Muslims arrived in Boise, Idaho around 1955. We started small with 15-20 people attending congregational prayers. Through the years, we have transitioned from our grassroots origins to a fully operational nonprofit center. We pride ourselves in our diversity, community engagement and building common alliances. As a group, we are very diverse. We speak different languages, come from various social and cultural backgrounds. Yet, we are united in our common faith and belief in the principles of Islam. Guided by the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, the Islamic Center of Boise is committed to the principles of moderation, compassion, and understanding. We welcome people of all backgrounds who seek to learn about Islam, and we actively pursue dialogue with other faith communities to foster interfaith understanding and mutual respect.
