The idea for Islamic Center of North Kansas City came along when a group of brothers and sisters were teaching weekend islamic classes at a space in the North Kansas City area and was spontaneously asked to leave with no reasoning. We dutifully complied and for a few weeks we could not find a suitable place for our students. Since the majority of our students were situated in the Northland, we searched for a location primarily North of the river. We knew we needed to find a permanent solution, not only for our students, but for all the youth that reside in the North Kansas City area. How is it that the Muslim community, as diverse as it is, does not have any sort of islamic center? The community is rapidly growing, and the young of today will be the adults of tomorrow. If we don’t put forth and establish places of khayr and benefit for them now, will we not feel regretful down the line? May we NOT be those whom feel regret for things that we could have done something about. Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah, we found exactly what we were looking for.
